Melodic Monday: New Music - Purity Ring - Belispeak

Megan James and Corin Roddick formed their "future pop" project Purity Ring only a short time ago, but already the duo have been musically active on their own for much longer than that. Choosing to release their hypnotic material track-by-track rather than committing to an entire album is a rather bold choice by today's standards. However, this formula seems to work for them as each track released is given a proper amount of time to be heard, felt and appreciated by their listeners. The band wants their music to linger. It's very possible that dropping an album all at once, the music could become lost in the shuffle of listeners continuously rotating their set lists.

The brand new track "Belispeak" (released today) smacks you in the face right away with chimes and blips that climb ever higher until finally dropping to a low dub beat as the vocals begin to filter in from some far off place. The track adds yet another stellar addition to the bands growing library of songs. I'm sure that one day we'll have an albums worth of music from this band, so that one day we can just press play and leave the meaty jams on repeat until we all die of old age, but until then we'll just have to submerge ourselves in what we've been given thus far.

Purity Ring continues to be a band that is at the top of list of bands to pay attention to.

Check out the new track "Belispeak" below.
