Angry Birds books? Really?

It's now official - Angry Birds is out of control. The beloved iPhone app has now infected the world on a large scale account. There are posters, plush toy collectibles, iPhone cases, spin-off games, parody short films and of course, talks of a feature film movie.

The app has been downloaded more than 400 million times worldwide, so why shouldn't its makers want to capitalize further on that? I don't blame them... I just think it's a smidge out of hand.

It should come as virtually no surprise that the popular game, created by Rovio Entertainment, will now be in a new format that fits cozily on your bookshelf. Diamond Books Distributors, who are mostly known for their comic book distribution, will be handling the release of the Angry Birds books.

Hitting shelves this month are the following titles: Angry Birds Bad Piggies Egg Recipes, The Angry Birds: The Big Red Doodle Book and Angry Birds: The Big Green Doodle Book.
