Writing is ALL around us. In advertisements, in movies, music, TV. Even when we're cooking! Without a recipe, how do you go from a fridge full of stuff to Chicken Cordon Bleu (unless of course you're a cooking prodigy). We're trying to encourage people on this site to check out new and exciting ways to look at writing. Through all of the above mentioned ways.
We are featuring up and coming writers and their short stories. Interviews with already established authors, fanfiction and more! But our bread winner is our original short story project... Read on to learn more...
Here's the deal:
We want to get the world writing! Art is a beautiful and fantastic thing! There are a few ways to participate... We have Twitter stories, we create THREE page short stories, we love illustrators who make our stories come to life. Each page is written by a different author via email. Each page/part that is written by a different person should be split up like so:
Page one - the beginning.
Page two - the middle.
Page three - the end!
Here's the process of what it is we do (and click on "How To Get Involved" for a step by step guide on how to participate if this sounds interesting to you!).
- First off: you email us ONE page of a story that you have in your head. Make sure the story is NOT completed, just one page of a story.
- We receive your story and we take that story and we send it to someone else who has also sent us a page of their story.
- Once you receive a story from us, you write ONE* more page to add on to it and email it back to us. Your style doesn't have to be the same as the initial author, in fact, we encourage you to take a different approach to the next page and make that part of the story your own! Change up the genre of the story, add or kill of some characters... it's up to you!
- We then take the first TWO pages of the story that we have received and we send THAT out to someone completely new! Again, feel free to change up the story however you see fit, but this time, make sure you are concluding the story.
- Send it back to us! Annnnnnnnnnnnnd FINALLY, we take the completed story and post it online for you to read and discuss!
You can send in as many stories as you would like to us. All we ask is that you do them one at a time so we don't get overwhelmed with pages upon pages in an envelope and our inbox!
